Nancy is one of the members of The Slaughter Family, the adoptive mother of Johnny where she will use her expertise to spy on and kill the Victims. Nancy was introduced as a purchasable DLC character on November 28, 2023.
Nancy is a track and trap character, with her ability to see a victim's view and set up barbed wire traps between gaps and crawl spaces.

"Not much is known about Nancy, other than she's been married 3 times, with each husband dying from mysterious causes or vanishing completely. Locals refer to her as "Black” Nancy, alluding to the constant death and misery that surrounds her. She's an expert at using her friendly looks to lure unsuspecting victims into deadly situations. Many years ago Johnny's mother, Judith, made this innocent, but fatal mistake. With Johnny's mother dead, Nancy finally had the one thing her husbands could never give her, a child of her own. So as sick and twisted as Johnny is, remember, even monsters have makers. Her heinous barbed wire traps perfectly reflect the pain and torture she's willing to inflict on anyone in her path."
Nancy is an integral, albeit sinister, member of the Slaughter Family, linked by blood to Cook as her cousin. On the surface, Nancy presents herself as a sweet and unassuming older woman, a stark contrast to the darkness that surrounds her. Known locally as "Black" Nancy, she has earned this nickname due to the mysterious disappearances of all three of her husbands, each vanishing under strange circumstances. What the townsfolk don't realize is that the true source of her misfortune is far more chilling.
Nancy's inability to conceive a child of her own caused her great distress. Rather than seeking medical help or adopting a child in the traditional sense, Nancy took matters into her own hands. Her twisted solution involved killing each of her husbands, blaming them for her infertility when, in reality, the issue was her own. Unable to bear a child of her own, she found a more sinister way to fill the void.
One day, a woman and her young son, Johnny, arrived at Nancy's door, seeking directions. Seizing the opportunity to fulfill her twisted desire for a child, Nancy attacked the woman, killing her while Johnny looked on. In the chaos, Johnny's mother managed to damage Nancy's eye before she was subdued and killed. As a result, Nancy was left blind in one eye, but she took Johnny in as her own child, raising him in the ways of the Slaughter Family.
However, as Johnny grew older, he began questioning his past, which led to a confrontation with Nancy. His teasing from Hitchhiker and frustrations about his identity led Johnny to confront Nancy about his origins. This conflict resulted in a violent altercation, where Johnny was left with a permanent scar on his face, a reminder of Nancy's grip on him.
Years later, Nancy's path crossed with Danny Gaines when he began searching for Maria Flores. After narrowing his search to one of three junkyards, Danny inadvertently found his way to Nancy’s, and realizing the situation needed to be contained, Nancy kidnapped him. This event sets the stage for the grim and harrowing events of the game, further binding Danny and the others to the twisted family’s fate.

Trivia[]
- Nancy is voiced by Cissy Jones, an award-winning actress (BAFTA), whose voiceover career spans the gamut from animation to video games and everything in between.
- Cissy Jones did both the motion capture and voice over performances, using her years of expertise in character study to craft Nancy's twisted and menacing persona. Nancy's character itself is based on an amalgamation of multiple female serial killers throughout history. Cissy took a lot of personality traits from studying those killers and crafted them into what she feel is a pretty sick and twisted individual.
